Because You Really Are Worth It
There were some pretty odd predictions about what to expect in the 21st century, one or two of which I was eagerly anticipating.
Houses dusted automatically...erm, yes please!
Just three sets of clothing (which is where the "or" comes in)…I'm still undecided.
Less coffee...perhaps not so much. I'm a work in progress though, so who knows?!
From Children to Women
When a friend told me she had been circumcised as a child, I was quite shocked. She must have seen my eyes widen, and anticipating the inevitable questions, said,
"But it doesn't really make a difference one way or the other."
Which threw me. Because I hadn't had any. I was merely going to mutter a few platitudes and quickly move on from the horror of it…
What If…
Chatting about embracing the ‘new’ with my #WeSayItAsWeSeeIt podcast guest, Sarah, my mind went to projects I'd “sensibly" abandoned - simply because they appeared to have insurmountable problems.
I suddenly realised the problems weren't that scary. My fear was leaving my comfort zone and adapting to the inevitable aftermath.

Back in the 70s, International School, Ibadan (popularly known as ISI) put on a production of the eponymously named 'Jonah-Man Jazz'*. A popular 60s dramatic cantata, it was Sunday school, but not as I knew it; and I absolutely loved it!
To Follow Excellently
When it comes to making career choices, it's not unusual for sons to be influenced by their fathers' choice of profession. There are numerous examples of families with two, three, even four generations of doctors, soldiers, businessmen, and so on.
For some it is an expectation, fulfilling a family tradition; for others a wishful door ajar - aiming to fan the flames and capture the burning desire of an innate disposition.
